Love this perc. wish it was bigger, it's six cups.Only issue I have is that I have it on a heating rack so it takes a while for it to start perking. You also have to be careful not to put it on a cold surface or else you take a chance it will break.I have a gas stove, so was worried about it cracking if it was on direct heat.Others have stated that it was ok to put on direct heat, but I would not take a chance.

And of all places, I found it at the dump! Brought it home with an ear to ear grin. Bleached it with soapy water, sterilized in the dishwasher and made my first pot of the BEST coffee that day.It does take a while for the water to boil then perk, but 6-8 minutes (after it starts to boil) yields coffee shop quality coffee and it's well worth the wait.We have an electric stove, I set the temp on medium high heat, and use a heat diffuser. No problems at all.Love these Pyrex coffee makers!

This is the best thing in the world of sweet tea. I've destroyed two with an electric range though, so I HIGHLY recommend you only use it with gas heat. And be careful cooling it down too quickly. I've also never used the accompanying percolator but i still love these things to death. Hopefully my yard sale luck hasn't quite run out!
